I think that was a request/challenge to provide a build that sustainably produces big enough damage to make 100 look like "nada." Which is something I'd like to see too.
I'd also really like to see a build (other than the SS/VoR/Empathy/Backfire mechanic) that goes from 100 damage in NM to 150 in HM.

(SS) Rits are fun, too bad I don't have one. The problem with the Rt/P is that at spear10 the weapon damage against high armor is practically zero (~DPS=6 without IAS). So the whole attrib is contributing to the build only with bonus damage form the spear attacks and with some utility (like wild throw), which is not much. I would keep the spear but go /E (!) for conjure and [drunken master] with a bunch of weapon spells [weapon of aggression] and/or [Warmonger's Weapon]/[Wailing Weapon] (very nice interrupts, especially if you can squeeze in that PvE ranged attack) and of course [asuran scan].

Hey Silversword, have you tried replacing the wand with an elemental spear for the faster attack speed? You don't need the points for it, just use it for the SS and conjure damage plus the splinter wep dmg.
I haven't tried it yet but I'm thinking of trying it haha.

I tried a Spirit Wand build in PvP a while back and it failed so bad I cried. This version at least has more damage. I haven't tried elemental spears, but I'll give 'em a shot. Why not lol.

Consider tossing in ["I Am The Strongest!"@10].

I changed your attribs for higher st dps:
[build prof=rt/e name="wtf spear rit" box spawning=11+1+3 air=10 channeling=10+1][splinter weapon][weapon of aggression][bloodsong][finish him][asuran [email protected]][spirit's strength][ebon battle standard of [email protected]][conjure lightning][/build]
I think spear is better in HM, wand is better in NM.
Spear DPS of your build at your PvE ranks is (35+15+15+1)=> 66 / 1.125 => 58.6 * 1.55 => 91 DPS - ~11 DPS (cast times) => ~80 DPS, armor ignoring. That's just the weapon DPS. (does not include finish him or splinter).
Edit: I will finish it then, same build, same attribs: wand against 110 armor is 76 DPS and 89DPS against 60 armor.

I'm using this build, just to bring my pet
[build prof=rt/r sp=12+3+1 co=9+1 ma=9 RE=3][volley][triple shot][spirit's strength][vital weapon][savage shot][charm animal][comfort animal][flesh of my flesh][/build]
with 16 in sp you can bring the following skills (insead of your pet):
[Feast of Souls]
[Rupture Soul]
[Spirit to Flesh]
other options:
- [Vampirism]
- [Pain Inverter]
- [Ebon Battle Standard of Honor]
- [Ebon Vanguard Assassin Support]
- [By Ural's Hammer!]
- [Alkar's Alchemical Acid]
- [I Am The Strongest!]
just read the skills and you know why you can bring them. This build works Great in HM.

[spirit's strength][volley][triple shot][asuran scan][I Am The Strongest!][weapon of aggression][sundering weapon][body shot]
This provides innate e-management. Pure damage however, with no utility. For [savage shot] and dshot, take a zealous bow.

What kind of attribute spread do you use with that? I normally don't take Sundering weapon (Cause if I really want CA, I'd take an air ele or Necro with [weaken armor]) so my att. spread is usually 10 marks, 8+1 channeling and 12+1+1 spawning.

Usually, Emgmt = carrying a zealous bow but then, I never did like triple shot. =\

Easy, in the screen shot, the player did 100ish damage with 2 characters: himself and his hero.(or she and her hero)
My example:[Mind Wrack] [Echo] [Cry of Pain] [Character 1]
[Echo] [Cry of Pain] [Character 2]
400 armor ignoring damage right there.

I'd sure like [Cry of Pain] on my hero too.
100 is just the weapon damage. You apply 60 to each target from splinter at least once, often more than once. So that's 150+ damage on a 5s recharge. Finally, orders buffs an entire party of 2s volley spammers.
Yeah, get 8 humans together with an SF sin to grab aggro and cryway is a bit more efficient, but this does the job and fits in whatever "balanced" or hero group you are stuck with.

Oh and the build really sucks. 3 weapon spells are completely wasted and you will not have enough mana to use your attack skills often.
You are also missing a +3 rune. Life doesn't really matter that much in PvE, the +2 on Spawning for more damage do matter. Never play PvE without a +3 rune (for PvP it's the opposite).
|
Alright, dont need that language =P
3 Wep spells may be much, unless you know which ones to use.
(and btw,the build doesnt suck)
For what you have, drop out Wep of Agression, not really needed. Toss in [Wep of Renewal] (EotN Skill. Att: Spawning Power) it will help with any energy problems, its not a solution to it, but it will help. Also, when you get your bow set up, always use a zealous bow, that will help out a lot also.
Try that out. If your willing to sacrifice Spirits Strength though, try running [Splinter Weapon] + [Volley] and [Offering of Spirit] toss in [Triple shot] and [Nightmare Weapon] with 16 channeling and you have one of the higest damage outputs in the game. (Did urgoz with 6 rits like tihs, went under 25 mins)
Good luck.
P.S: Life DOES matter in PvE, if it didnt everyone would be running around with Sup runes on every attribute, and, you know, its pretty hard to do things dead.

If you wanna find someone to blame, blame Chthon. He challenged me to make a build with the ONLY condition that it does 150+ armor ignoring damage. And so I did.
He never said NOT to use this and that.

[spirit's strength][aura of holy might][great dwarf armor][weapon of aggression][mystic sweep][ermites sweep][chilling victory][death pact signet]
60 base armor + 15 insignia (weapon spell one) + 24 GDA = 99 base armor, pretty sweet
That's been my main SS rit build for a good while now (before it was SS Sword) and it pretty much pumps out insane DPS (if I'm not spending all my time casting enchantments and whatnot). Has a lot of energy issues which is why I'm thinking of moving to a Spear or bow build or even the wanding build

[arcane echo] [ray of judgment]
512+ armor ignoring damage
PWNT!
Plus heroes can use it!
You could easily have over nine hundred damage in the matter of 5-10 seconds if you have someone tanking!
As for the topic itself, I figure in a spirit's strength build, splinter weapon might be hard to manage since SS does not take much effect effect since SW goes away once used. So you would have to have another weapon recharged.
Has anyone tried an axe SS build using AOE attack skills?
